Cuthead was introduced already once in this column. This time with his 2nd instrumental guitaralbum "Walkabout". Cuthead aka Dominik Rüegg is accompanied by Drums/Percussion on this record and contributed all guitars, bass and vocals by himself. The guitarist (originating from the Swiss City Winterthur) goes very versatile and also clearly 60s/70s-orientiert to work. As influences one can constitute icons such as Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck. With a raucous, blusy Stratocaster sound Cuthead plays thru instrumental rock, funk and fusionjazz tunes and immediately one can tell that a very experienced guitarist acts here, who `s fairly familiar with many styles of music, also with fingerstyle on the acoustic guitar. Rüegg is currently cooperating with various german TV and Movieproductions, acted in many bands and projects and used to play (according to his own statement) 130 Gigs a year - considerable. | ||||||||
